Yes, I’m quite certain it does. You’ll still have to clearly make your case when you apply I think, but I have many friends who are in Big 4 and have qualified for work experience.

Elan (ex) prepper here. Ex only because they don’t do L3 – generally they’re a good provider (frankly the only one I’ve known!). Am using Schweser now for L3.

Schweser or Elan works great. Those are the two I’ve used, but are many others (check here) that you can try out as well.

You definitely should use qbanks – practicing without Qbanks is like going to war without weapons.

Credit tranches are relating to default situations (addressing credit risk), whereas time tranches are for cash flow and payments (prepayment risk).

So time-tranching (or prepayment tranching) determines how principal cashflows are allocated. This can be sequential (senior tranche first) or some other custom parameters, depending on why/how the product was structured.

This is super interesting. Work experience clearly helps a lot, and in my case it’s in 2 ways:

1. There are areas where the topics are really, really clear for me because I face these every day in my role;

2. Peer pressure. Since quite a few colleagues are charterholders, and also current candidates, I have an extra bit of determination to make sure I pass (hopefully!)
