A few weeks ago I posted about moving to London. I’ve sorted out my accommodation and I’m now quite excited about it. I’ve also registered for all the CFA UK events in May, so I wonder if I’ll meet any of you there? The first event I’m going to is on 8th May, ‘Introduction to Low Volatility Equity Strategies’ at Canary Wharf.
If you are attending and wouldn’t mind meeting, then should I wear the ‘300 Hours’ button, or practice a secret handshake or password or something? 🙂

Would be interested to hear what benefits are there – I’m not current a member of the association here but I’m thinking about it!

@hairyfairy, for me the main benefit is to attend the speaker events — you see some faces and meet other people in the finance profession so it is good for networking. Of course, for that it is most beneficial to live in London, as 99% of the events happen there. They also have study sessions and surgeries for CFA candidates (all in London) and offer discounts on buying mock exams from Schweser and BSAS. So if you are based in London it is not a bad idea to be a candidate member.

@MockTurtle‌ I try and attend every now and then, but I probably won’t be in this one. I’m sure I’ll catch you around at some point though!
