I wanted to ask that if I take the CFA L1 in February 2022, will I be able to take the August 2022 CFA L2 exam?

Yes, you will. If you pass L1, obviously 😁

              Hi Zee,

Don’t mind me jumping in. If we take the CFA1 in Feb 2022, don’t we need to wait for our pass exam results in order to apply for August 2022 for CFA2?

Based on your post here: https://300hours.com/cfa-results-date/

If it takes roughly 8 weeks, I think the application window based on this year, closes on 22th of April. Will we make it in time?

Oddly enough I came across CFA’s own infographic. https://www.cfainstitute.org/-/media/documents/factsheet/cbt-candidate-pathing-infographic.ashx

Seems to suggest that if taking CFA 1 Feb 2021, we’re able to take CFA 2 in August 2021. I assume the same applies for 2022. We don’t need our pass results to apply for the next exam? Or they do release it ahead of time.

That said.. doesn’t it mean we will miss the Early Bird application window for CFA2 August 2022?

That’s a good point @scarlet07. To my knowledge, yes, you will miss the early-bird deadline if you decide to take the exams ‘back-to-back’, because the system will only allow you to register for CFA Level 2 after you’ve passed CFA Level 1.

This has always been the case even when the CFA exams were on the old exam schedule – December L1 candidates that passed had to pay regular exam fees to take the L2 exam the following June.

                Hello Zee,

                Thanks for the clarification

The six months gap from February to August would be sufficient irrespective of the exact dates?
