@Clark90 Absolutely, don’t get me wrong, I think Mark’s videos are awesome. I won’t pass my level 1 without his videos. I only think some sections are better than the others.

I don’t remember exactly which LOC but I think it is one of the Economic LOC. I think the Econ section of the videos series is not so great.

One thing to keep in mind, I found the video series missed some of the minor topics from the CFAI curriculum. I highly recommend to complete all end of chapter questions and practice as many questions as you can get your hands on.

Most importantly, time yourself when you do the practice exam and make sure you have at least 15 minutes to review your answer.

Hi there jailer, I began my L1 study end of September 2016. I first started with CFAI readings but I found the book is a bit confusing. So I started to search around and from Mark’s videos on YouTube. After few videos, I found I understand the content much better from Mark’s videos than reading the CFAI readings. I follow the following steps to study for the L1 exam:

1. Write down the LOC for each section on a notebook.
2. Watch the video with 1.5x speed.
3. Jot down notes if necessary
4. Do the end of chapter questions.
5. Review the answer, mark the question I did wrong for review

I passed level 1 with Mark Meldrum videos, end of chapter questions, Schweser practice exams (x4) and official mock exams. I think Mark’s videos are great if you want to understand the concept. However, make sure you watch the videos with 1.5x speed to save time and spend more time to practice. Good luck!
