in reply to: What is DTA and DTL really? #67089in reply to: If money was not an issue… #68904Up::7
@Zee mostly because of the autobahn and the beautiful cars. It is also very scenic and I did a lot of research on Germany and their green energy program way back when I was in high school. Their achievement is amazing and I just want to see everything I read up close.
in reply to: I’m Cranky Right Now #71678Up::7@Sophie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a99bob2zhI it is a nice motivational song. (and this is in Japanese – you get a cookie if you can pick out the bad English phrases)
@Zee I know but when I started studying for level I I didn’t think of writing level II right away and wanted to delay it in favour of gaining work experience so the 6 weeks break I did have between writing level I and starting studying for level 2 was spent networking, job hunting and not unwinding and relaxing (though obviously Christmas week and New Years is a different story but I mean in general).Up::7I also agree with the solution and arrived at the answer b. The convertible preferred shares are anti-dilutive because (450,000+250,000)/(100,000+250,000)=2 which is the same as the EPS of (450,000-250,000)/100,000=2.
Therefore to calculate the dilutive EPS=(450,000-250,000)/(100,000+60,000)=1.25
(100,000×10)/25=40,000 so that means the net dilutive impact of the stock option is 100,000-40,000 (that the company was able to reduce by buying back share in the open market due the the funds received.)
Hope that helps.
in reply to: Apparently I just moved up to Level 2?!? #68157Up::6Currently @MattJuniper is my stiffest competition, there is a 4 point differential. He is gonna give me a headache for the rest of the week 😛
I can only image the controlled chaos just before exams. We will be stressed and competitive.in reply to: Thinking, Fast and Slow – Daniel Kahneman #68260Up::6It would be for my to-be-children? I rather bequeath them knowledge and I want to build a library with a fireplace and all…
Sitting by the fireplace sipping some coffee and reading a book is just divine. Also since my sisters also read it is nice to have a physical reference when you are debating some point.in reply to: If money was not an issue… #68943Up::6@diya, what defines cute though? – Ryan Gosling? Tom Cruise? Jason Statham? 😛
Not Jason Statham @Sophie I am curious, what is your take on him. I still like that fact that he is involved with fast and shiny cars.
@hairyfairy we try to keep things interesting so you keep on coming. Also realize I’ve never seen the guy.
in reply to: What’s your age? #69046Up::6@imdexbuffet 😛 I felt an outburst was required after @Sophie’s comment.
And usually people don’t guess that high D:in reply to: If money was not an issue… #69054in reply to: How to tackle IPS questions ?? #69532Up::6Maybe I should start lobbying for a talkative badge. @Sophie what is the most efficient way to bribe @Zee?
in reply to: How to tackle IPS questions ?? #69585Up::6I officially step down from being a lobbyist. This short stint illustrates that I’m not good at it. Till next time!
in reply to: Photography? #70333Up::6Well @vincentt – you’re 3rd on the weekly score board so far (excluding the 300Hour team). So maybe there’s a chance this week to win 🙂
I’m not counted anymore!
in reply to: 300Hours Community T-shirts… #70436in reply to: Sunday Night #70520Up::6@marc last time it was just about half an hour before the winners were announced. No such activity this week. I was a bit disappointed but members of this forum should be studying according to @Zee wisdom.
I usually take a break on Sundays and I am currently in the middle of a meeting with my favourite criminal.
I stayed up all night studying so forgive any nonsensical comments from me.in reply to: Deferred Taxes in FCF #70944Up::6@vincentt no I haven’t. I only did it for chapters I was having difficulty on. Right now I am doing some revision because I’ve managed to forget half the curriculum.
in reply to: How long are those vignettes? #70971Up::6@fabian I think it is normal to feel depressed at this stage of the game. We are all slowly starting to do the practice exam and realizing that we don’t know as much as we though we knew…
I don’t think 200 mins is too bad since you still have 6 weeks to shave off 2 min her vignettes but also if you are spending as much time as you are panicking shaving off 20 min overall shouldn’t be that hard after our erratic emotions are under control.
Are there particular sections that are taking up a lot of time? Averages are misleading – if there are particular section that you are scoring low on (and taking lots of time on probably) re-read that section you might just be simply spending too much time thinking…
