      Infact considernig my age (mid 30’s) I am not inclined pursue such a change in my career.
      The primary motivation for me is to improve my understanding of business that will allow me to move easily in different roles

      I am in the same boat. And I have just started studying for CFA for these reasons – and hopefully combine it with my technology marketing background to move into different roles. All the best!

        Hi all. This is Rishi from India. Absolutely new to CFA. I have an MBA, and I have worked in the technology industry for almost 9 years now. I have been a technical guy, and now a technology solutions marketing guy. Finance was not such a strong point in MBA (actually accounting, pretty ok in financial analysis though), but was always intrigued by it. Want to take up classes for CFA, primarily to re-build on my fin knowledge, study alongside my wife who is preparing to take up CFA I in June of 2014, and then eventually appear for it by Dec 14 (Yeah! Gonna take my time!). Hope to see more such “tangential” folks like me willing to take up the challenge! Cheers…

          @Sophie, yes I will start studying with her – I am joining online classes from this Friday along with her. So, yes will be a good motivation…by the way, any pointers on how I can utilize the CFA to build over my current marketing profile? By that I mean, can I see some roles in the industry which I can target – helps to have a tangible goal?
