I made the mistake of writing on the exam hall ticket, but had only written question number , nothing else and this happened in the afternoon session after which all our hall tickets were collected eliminating any scope of copy or taking home question markings. What are the chances of institute understanding the case and taking no disciplinary action ?

They probably won't take any action. Hopefully. My colleague (accidentally) did that a few years back and got away with it. But really if they decide to be strict I don't think you have much wiggle room.Why did you write question numbers on your exam ticket?
