I started the CFA program 3 years ago out of curiosity. I passed the level 3 exam in June. However, I have zero work experience and I don’t intend to work full time for 2 more years as I’m currently doing a Ph.D in physics. Will I still be able to get the CFA designation down the road once I have obtained the required experience? Is there anything that I have to do such as doing some continual education and filling the ethical statement?

      Sure @E92M3 – your Level 3 pass doesn’t ‘expire’.

PhD in Physics and Finance? You know you can’t do a physics research and work for an asset management firm as a hobby. Time to make your mind up.
BTW Congratulations on passing the CFA level 3. It’s phenominal for someone with no background in business studies. Well Done!!!

@E92M3‌ You don’t have to do anything else until you’ve accumulated the adequate work experience. Let us know if you have any other questions!

E92M3 – Congrats on passing the three exams.  What are you plans after your PhD?
I am curious since I’m 1.5-2 years away from finishing a PhD in Microbiology, and I’m looking to start studying for the level 1 exam.
