Just to confirm. Does writing down the exact notations in the formulas generally carry any points on the exam? Or is it fine to just use the inputs and show the process of calculation?

Writing down the formula proves you remember it, which gets you some points already. If you jump straight into the numbers and e.g. copy down the numbers erroneously, you lose all points because the examiner can’t see if you correctly knew which concept and formula to utilise.

I’d say write down the formula, it doesn’t take much time and it minimises mistakes. Plus it shows that you know your formula!

@AjFinance: As per schweser marking scheme..formulae did carry 1 point or so sometimes

@Sophie I know the formulae, just don’t remember the exact notations sometimes.

Oh then write the words itself, it’s also ok.
