I took lots of time off. Don't worry - what you learnt in L1 doesn't fall out of your brain that easily!

I don't think taking off 4-5 months is a good idea. But hey, you deserve to relax a bit. Take a month off or so & come back to get ready for the next level. Maybe you could try some free online courses in the mean time. It's not like you have to work too hard or something but just being in touch.
