        Hi All,

Just woke up to the shocker of a news with a CFA Level I 25% PASS RATE !!!!

That’s a new low. A lot of speculation is rife :

        1. CFAI is a ‘NOT FOR PROFIT’ organisation … but seeing the current spate does the standing hold ?
        2. Candidates had tremendous amount of time to prepare hence everybody was well prepared that automatically raised the MPS
        3. They would want to weed out the non serious candidates at the ground level itself
        4. The influx does not justify the market demand for new analysts roles in the financial markets
        5. 4 times a year Level I and twice a year Level II and III did irate a lot of Charterholders
        6. The prep provider and the core curriculum gap just showed up

        What do you think ?

        Please let me know

CFA Institute’s official guidance states that the minimum passing score reflects the score that can be achieved by a ‘just competent’ candidate, which is supposed to be consistent across the years, whether it’s 2010, 2015 or 2020.

If we assume this holds true, this implies the average CFA Level 1 candidate quality for May’21 was significantly lower compared to past exams.

That be the case then you are indicating an early weeding out
