To anyone who's ever taken them before and then taken CFA Level 1 (and hopefully passed), I'm just curious, did you find their practice exams (the 2 "volumes" online that include 3 practice exams each) to be helpful in your last minute studying? I've taken 2 live mock exams, was planning on taking the one CFAI mock exam, and was looking online for other free sample exams (investopedia.com for has one, simpliearn.com has another). Was it worth it to pay the extra for those practice exams? I'm trying to do a cost-benefit analysis, since I have to pay for all the material out of pocket (my employers aren't reimbursing me for it).

@ajost14, if you're going to do the Schweser books, do book 2. It's a bit more difficult than the first book. I have heard from colleagues that it is more in-line with the difficulty level of the actual exam.

Personally, I think the 2 live mock exams and the CFAI mock exam will be plenty. Given the format for level I, I think the most important tool is the Q-Bank.
