Just wondering as it’s a good time to think about membership now. Are there sufficient benefits to CFA Institute membership to join as an associate member? Any thoughts from people who joined?

I’m renewing – work pays for it and I benefit from the events they organise, such as free mock exam workshops!

I was an associate member for a year, I joined for networking as well. It wasn’t very worth it for me, but I don’t think I put in a lot of effort into events and volunteering as recommended.

Associate membership was not worth it for me (I was looking at it purely from networking). $500 a year for networking opportunities – unless you’re literally targeting firms that are active in CFA Institute activities, it might be better spent elsewhere. I’m not sure what other benefits it offers.
