in reply to: December 2015 Level 1 prep #82156Up::5
Started quants a week ago, after 4 readings I can say it’s not so hard if u have any economic background.
in reply to: Re-Take Advice #81715Up::4If it’s important to you then someday u will achieve it I hope that this day will come in June 15′
Good luck and don’t give up!in reply to: Diluted EPS #83167in reply to: Didn’t get the last week off… #83217Up::4I’ve got a job in a week before exam…. thats a blessing in disguise 😀 So im working in Friday too and then I have to travel 3 hours to the test center. But I think I’ll be rested anyway 🙂
I didnt touch a single mock exam :< but considering fact that I was learning for 5-10 hours day by day during the last 7 months I’m still confident about my skills.
GOODLUCK to all who devoted such a significant amout of time for this exam! We’re strong!
in reply to: Dec 2015 Results Day: All You Need to Know #83367Up::4I think that Tomorrow I will be close to get a hearth attack. From 1 week Im sweatin as hell… 6 months of my life might disappear if I’ll fail… THIS PRESSURE
in reply to: Differences between LOS and Practice problems. #82850in reply to: Which topic did you find the hardest in Level 1? #83041Up::3Im already preparing for over 6 months for Dec 16′ and I found that Economics and few topics from quantitive methods are pretty heavy…
On the other hand, fra, ethics and portfolio management is fairly easy.
Up::2I am so damn scared of Quants since they weight this much…. And I must admit that questions from QBank about Quants looked quite easy…
Most candidates recommend to take 4-5 mock exams… Well in comparison to average salary in Poland they cost a lot and I cant afford to buy this much of them right now. So I will take only 1 mock from CFAI and hope its enought.
:))
in reply to: after level 1 exam #83260Up::2I had the same feelings about the difficulty od each session. Overall I left the exam room in a good mood. Its hard for me to belvive that I made more than like 50 mistakes… and I will be very suprised if I fail.
When the positive results will come in the end of January, I will automaticly quit my current job and move back to my family house to study for lvl2. Otherwise if the result will be negative I’ll stay employed and learn after job hours.
in reply to: the Level 1 CFA curriculum _ I need your help #83261Up::2Kaplan is enought. But I recommend curriculum to everybody who likes to know what is actually happening behind all of these concepts (I dont like to learn more than I have to but in this case it worked for me)
I read everything from curriculum once and highlighted the most important stuff. Then I read it for a second time and I copied highlighted stuff to my personal notes (1 page A4 of every topic, overall 60 pages of notes). After doing this I still had 1 month for practical questions, remembering the formulas(very important), and reading my notes.
The most important is to start early so u dont have any time pressure at the end.
in reply to: MPS- Minimum Passing Score #81760in reply to: December 2015 Level 1 prep #81958Up::1I also completed registraction process for Dec Level 1. But Im unemployed student and I got plenty of time. I estimated that I can sacrifice even 700h for preparation…. And do you guys think it might be too much and I might get bored and lose my motivation during this time?
Should I start later and spend 300-400h like most of candidates?
in reply to: Practice exams! Who wants practice exams? #81959Up::1Should I download all the files now if Im oging to take Level 3 in like 3 years from now? Or the site will be still availble in 2017? =D Ure notes are genius!
in reply to: Depreciation Question #83040Up::1u dont use residual value in calcualtions of accelerated methods of amortisation. The rule is just that the value of an asset cant go below residual value in later years.
Up::0Hello everyone,

Looking also for some people from Poland to exchange expiriences.in reply to: Valid Passport #81741in reply to: after level 1 exam #83277Up::0Well.. I work in State Street as fund accountant and we do a lot of stuff connected with hedge funds but this is huge corporation and I think that preparing for level 2 and eventually passing it outscales working and failing to pass :expressionless:
And im almost 100% sure that working and learning for July wont work for me.
I have learned for level 1 for over 6 months and I’m preety sure that I will have to spend at least as much time for lvl 2
