Anyone else feels CFAI Papers are easier when compared to Schweser??

@sankrutimehta I don’t think they provide a seperate sheet. @Sophie Did you face space constraints while writing Level3?

@sankrutimehta I did my first CFAI mock today (after 6 Schweser mocks) and must say I was pleasantly surprised at the difficulty level. The AM paper in particular didn’t seem to go into as much detail as I thought it would so I was able to pick off marks. This was the 2011 paper.

Still have 2 full CFAI mocks and a fourth morning paper to do this week…

I’m trying to remember – but I believe they do have extra sheets if you need them. Normally they provide a lot of space so it’s rarely you need them. @zee do you remember?

Hi guys. Yes there are more than enough extra sheets in the answer book. Just number your answers properly.

hehe, you can’t be defeated right now! It’s too near to give up so you need to walk in the exam hall and give it your best shot. After a while you need some overconfidence boost such as:

@Mattjuniper by full CFAI Mock, you mean both Morning and Afternoon sessions? I thought they only provide Afternoon session mock for Level 3.

Yes the full thing. They don’t provide the am session for the mock, but even better, they provide the 2010, 2011 and 2012 actual exam papers 🙂

I combine these with all the PM mocks I have to create a full exam.

LOL – I’d say it feels less “intense” in a way –> Schweser makes you work harder to get your answer. Not sure if it’s necessarily easier or more difficult.

@sankrutimehta I felt it was harder, in the sense that I didn’t know the answer to many of the questions. However I also found it less time-consuming.

There’s still time @sankrutimehta – take deep breaths! Your improvement curve will come (and fast) towards the end, after tons of practice

@sankrutimehta I haven’t solved the CFAI Mock yet but it was less intense than Schweser Mocks for Levels 1 and 2. Also I have found Schweser Practice exams Vol 2 to be tougher than Vol1.

I was solving a Schweser Mock today. The first question of the the AM session, Exam 1. Don’t know if you noticed but how are you supposed to describe a comprehensive return objective within the space provided. I mean they provide the same amount of space for both 5 min and 15 min questions. The guideline answers are long as they are supposed to be, but even if you tone it down, I don’t understand how you can fit a proper response in the space provided. ~X( ~X(

It’s easy and straightforward when you take it outside of the pressure, but completely different when you’re in the room taking it. The way CFAI asks the questions will get to you and make you lose your confidence (especially under pressure).

So don’t equate what you see on what they release to the actual experience. Your brain will literally go the opposite that you thought it would.

I would have done 2011. I did gob-smackingly terrible in the AM paper, but I remember doing alright in the PM, should be about close to 80%?
