I've been reading schweser material-alternative investments... all day long and i am not able to retain anything. it has too much theory in it, do we have to remember everything? can someone please tell me how to go ahead with this subject...

@sharz theory is important, don't ignore it...try switching themes...read a few pages in alt inv and then solve some quant problems, return to alt inv again later...for theoretical topics, theory is important...

For alt investments, the best thing that works for me is to work through examples. Every person learns differently however, but hope my way helps you.
