          @sophie let me create a spreadsheet to calculate the storage cost + opportunity cost vs 10% discount 😀

          I’m like @vincentt (maybe it is superstition?). I still have all my CFAI books from LI and LII plus a set of Schweser notes for LI and Elan notes for LII. I have just received my CFAI books for LIII. It will remain in the office while I enjoy a well earned break in August.

          @vincentt – wouldn’t recommend it really as we can never know what changes from year to year and wouldn’t want you to miss out key information that can make a difference between band 10 and pass!

          I don’t get it, why are you keeping old books when you’ve passed already @vincentt?

            I’m a sentimental person, so I find myself keeping almost everything.

            @edulima
            I got the ebook version for L1, I have no issues reading ebooks but the only issue is when you are searching for something, i find flipping physical pages more satisfying than scrolling.

            LOL – I’m the opposite @stt00007. Post exams in university, the first thing I did was to recycle ALL my notes. Rather rash act, but turns out I never needed to refer to them anyway. There was some moment of withdrawal having nothing but a piece of graduation certificate as proof of all the hardwork, but heck – I moved on! :))

              We’ll try and ask, but can’t guarantee anything. There isn’t really a reason not to order now though if you’ve already decided to take the exam next year 🙂

                LOL – trust me @vincentt, I went through this nostalgic phase too. Truth is, after CFA and getting your charterholder, it’s the last thing of your mind and I passed all my books to juniors… So yes, nope we don’t have them, as they get outdated annually. All I have is just my Level 1 secret sauce book as memory 😉

                @Sophie – I have no doubt I’ll never use them again. It does give me peace of mind knowing they’re there though.

                God forbid I ever come across higher calculus problems again, under the bed is where I’ll hide – behind that stack of textbooks!

                  any way of extending this? I’ve so many stacks of CFA related books piling up now…

                    @alta12 nothing superstition, it’s more like few years down the line when and if you get the chance to flip through those pages and saw some highlighting or stuff that you have written, it will gives you flashbacks of those moments you struggled or enjoyed. Probably just me.

                    @christine
                    @sophie @zee I assumed none of you still have those CFA related books?

                    I still have some stuff lying around. The main books I’ve gotten rid of, but I still have secret sauces and the odd exam book or two knocking around.

                      Surely storage cost is close to nil. What else do you store there that is revenue generating?!

                        when books cluttered your flat -> reduces space -> reduces comfiness -> possibility of claustrophobia -> increases stress -> affects exam performance 😛

                        @vincentt – you can smell the books earlier, I heard that knowledge can seep into the brain through air too 😛

                        you should have include that as the 11th Commandmentson 300hours.com :p

                        If it’s regular PDFs you could do a lot of stuff with them, including underlining, especially if using a tablet. Not sure what format does Schweser come in these days though…

                          @zee @sophie Do you know if Schweser will have this every year? I don’t need it this time around but would be interested if this will happen for the next exams…

                          Possible solution would be to get the e-book versions… I have always been reluctant to study from intangible books; but now I’m hooked. VitalSource has a nice system as you can add notes and highlight with different colors… The sheer weight of the physical books already gives me enough reason to only carry around my slim laptop which is really nice!

                          The only thing still missing for me is the ability to underline (I love underlining…)
