Hello everyone,
Seeking some guidance on how to approach the market for some ‘relevant work experience’ . Just passed the Level 3 exam but have no experience in the investment field (unusual… I guess) . I am a Chartered Accountant and have worked for more than 5 years (post qualification) as a Finance Manager, but nothing ‘relevant’ for the award of my charter… any suggestions? Which level should I expect to be hired at in the industry?

Hi @Nida_shah00 – I believe your work as a chartered accountant may qualify as relevant work experience. It’s quite a broad term, but as you’re directly finance related it’s highly likely you’ve covered aspects of the relevant work experience that can be included. I believe @Zee’s the expert on this.

Welcome @Nida_shah00. What did your experience as a finance manager cover? I mean to ask your job role.

Thank you @aliza_khan
I’ve been involved in financial accounting and reporting, budget preparation, presentations and securing approval thereof, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, conducting and coordinating audits..in short, ensuring the day to day running of the finance department of an organization.

@nida_shah00 your experience should count. We’ve previously written about how you should he able to confirm this: http://www.300hours.com/1/post/2012/10/is-your-work-experience-cfa-relevant-heres-how-to-check.html
