Hi all,
I ve passed Level I last December and have taken a break from CFA for the past few months. Registration for Level II is now opened, and I am keen to kick start the process again. I have used Schweser’s notes for Level I but finds that it was too brief in explanation and I have to refer to the CFAI most of the time to get a better understanding. I would like to try other notes for Level II. Hope to receive some feedback before I invest in a particular learning institute because there are just so many to choose from 🙂 Thanks!!!

Thanks! Yup, self study and long working hours as well… need comprehensive notes that do not require a lot of cross reference with other materials.

Wiley/Elan are good. Study notes and practice exams are solid so if you’re a self-student (rather than classes) it works well. They just don’t have L3 yet, so you’ll have to find another provider for L3.

Hi Jennifer,
Congrats for your L-1 success. For your L-II study, FinQuiz is offering notes that are quite explanatory and go perfectly with CFAI curriculum because their notes are in coordination with CFAI curriculum pattern instead of LOS. You can visit their website http://www.finquiz.com and can download samples available.
Best Wishes

kaplan schweser is in very easy language as compared to CFAI material.I cleared level 2 with help of only schweser. My suggestion would be to read from only schweser and problem solving from CFAI and schweser.

I think Schweser is very concise and I agree it is not as elaborate for some concepts but I doubt it is handicapped. I can confirm I used mainly schweser for L2. What is important is to always do the end of chapter questions in the CFAI material!
All the best!
