@sophie I'm okay now. I figured out how to understand. Carrying value of an asset > tax base, a deffered tax liability is created. Carrying value of a liability > tax base, a deffered tax asset is created.

Ok no prob @Zayd. You may also want to take a look at the forum's CFA Level 1 section on the left hand side menu - there's a CFA topic pick area with a list of all questions asked on Level 1 before. I knew DTA and DTL are in there somewhere!
