in reply to: Dividend Discount Model #78661Up::6
I got the wrong answers on one of these questions and it stated the correct answer as:
(D1 / E1) / r-gWhy would you use retention rate as the numerator?
in reply to: Solving for Yield on BABs #79737Up::4Thank you Vincentt, of course… I don’t know why my mind came up blank, I knew that…
Guess my winter break was a bit too long haha!in reply to: 8 CFA Candidate Mistakes You Could Be Making #76730in reply to: PassedTense #78644Up::3Thanks for all the response. I’m at level 8.3 in Passed tense and still scores around 80%< which feels good. Just did the AM-session of CFAI mock exam, where I scored 78%, so a bit lower still. It felt very accounting heavy though, and accounting is def my worst topic since it's more detailed knowledge rather than conceptual understanding. Thanks Mitch for the recommendation at pinpointing exactly which LOS it is that lowers my score. That should help a fair bit!
in reply to: 300 Hours’ Rough Guide to a Solid CFA Study Plan #76731Up::2Hey.
I could get my hands on last years Schweser notes for free, would that be stupid off me? How much will it change from year to year?Up::2Seriously if you’re trying to promote your website sort it out first. I just spend 4hrs doing mock exams. Did it twice, the first time it all crashed at question 100-something and the second time it didn’t let me score it. When I finally managed to log in after a million tries, it hadn’t saved any answers…
It’s a great tool but it got sooooooooo many glitches. Don’t really have 4hrs to spend on mock exams that doesn’t show me the results 1 week before the real exam…
in reply to: Adapt Prep – Level 2 #83727Up::1Since posting this I have received feedback/responses to my emails and they have upped their game in general, which is highly appreciated. It seems as they have taken the feedback seriously and am determined to improve the quality, which is great given it’s a good idea and product as long as the questions offered have a high quality.
in reply to: Which topic did you find the hardest in Level 1? #78660Up::0Even though I have (or maybe that’s why?) accounting undergrad I find accounting the hardest. The other topics are quite conceptual in the information to take in. It’s just basic statistic concepts, basic economics etc. But accounting feels like it’s so much of: If X & Y is the firm reporting in US GAAP or IFRS, and just tons of small minor pointless differences between the two systems 😛
in reply to: Passing CFA Level I with Bloomberg CFA Prep #83509Up::0For CFA Level 1 I used PassedTense for exam preperations (was still in Beta mode and I believe they are now called AdaptPrep) and I must say this seems to be based on the same idea/premise. It worked great for me (passed on first attempt). I’m now looking for something similar for Level 2 and was hoping that Bloomberg might offer that, but haven’t been able to find a (good/similar) Level 2 prep anywhere. If anyone could recommend one that would be very kind of them!
