@CFAcharterwannabe @ralu14
thanks a ton mate, will check it out when i reach there…jotting down notes now for revision during the last two weeks…if you haven’t yet tried the mocks, first do 2 cfa mocks instead of the schweser mocks…there are 4 mocks from cfa, so those 2 should give a decent estimate about the exam instead of the schweser mocks…
i was checking the cfai material earlier when i faced doubts, but time constraints prevented me from doing that for some of the other topics…maybe i can cover that during this revision round…24hours is too short a time in a day! earth is too small a planet, should have been on jupiter for cfa exams! 😛in reply to: Primary Study Source and why? #79691in reply to: Study Group for CFA 1 – Bangalore #80183in reply to: Why do we fall? #75301in reply to: FRA questions #75565Up::4@edulima, stocks don’t have strike prices, do they? i think only options have that…
market price is current price and strike price is the price at which the option will be exercised…the difference between them will be the premium on the option(your profit or loss if you exercise the option)
stocks only have the market price, no strike price…is that what you were asking?
in reply to: Question of the Week – Fixed Income #78468in reply to: CFA Institute Materials problem sets #78491Up::4@ralu14 forgotten quite a lot of material mate…dont remember formulas and some nitty-gritty concepts here and there…so my tests didnt go well either…scores dropped with each test 😛
so i moved to revision again, will take tests again from 24th may onwards…by then, hopefully, i’ll be able to memorize the formulas and complete a quick scan of the entire material again…in reply to: Time management tips during exam #79029Up::4@priya yep, i agree with @vincentt …run through them in the same sequence…anything that might take longer than 90 secs to solve, mark the question and return to it later…if you dont find the time to solve it at all, make an educated guess…
i follow the above time structure too, helps a lot! slight deviations expected though, since ethics takes slightly longer due to the reading time…plus weak subjects will take some time but other than that, it’s pretty good for keeping track…in reply to: CFA Institute Materials problem sets #79087Up::4@ralu14 @CFAcharterwannabe
yup, noticed the same…those cfa mocks are a level apart…should not have relied on kaplan so much…well, lesson learnt(a tad too late though)in reply to: The CFA Level I & II June 2014 Results Roundup #79605Up::4passed L1, sure is a sigh of relief…
thought i was on the cusp until i saw @BobBarkerPlaysPlinko ‘s result sheet 😉 hats off to you!
in reply to: Formulas Formulas Formulas #79624Up::4@WannaBeePM somewhere on this forum, i remember reading that a formula had changed between the 2013 and 2014 curriculum in Kaplan, I think…now, not many people use CFAI material for L1, so this kinda stuff is risky and hence requires complete review by the individual studying the material…
besides, believe it or not, it greatly helps reading a formula you have written down than a formula written down by someone else, regardless of how beautiful the other’s writing might be 😉
@Maverick funnily enough, i had similar troubles for that topic, although in kaplan…makes you wonder why they don’t reorganize the material when these providers are almost re-writing it all…
in reply to: L1 Results + Dreaming #79628Up::4funnily enough, i was so occupied with other activities, i ended up checking my mail (accidentally discovered the cfa result) over two hours after it reached my inbox :neutral_face:
Up::4@BHUPENDRA the change for L1 may not be significant(although last time an entire topic underwent changes)…if you are worried, i suggest you start with L1 2014 material from Schweser and once the 2015 material is released, you can use that to cover the changes…better this way than to risk studying it in a shorter span of time
in reply to: Time between exams #79700Up::4it isn’t that bad an idea to go for L1 in december and take L2 over a year from then…i don’t know for how long you’ll be busy if you pass in december, but regardless it wont be too hard to revise the L1 material before starting preparations for L2, say around December the year after…
besides, if you dont clear L1 in december, you have the opportunity to try it out again in June(with minimal efforts put in to cover for your weaknesses, considering you have time constraints) and then go for L2 in june the year after…
