      Hi Ankita,
I would strongly say to pursue CFA considering all the circumstances of yours. I will also say that you are exhibiting some emotional biases that you want to stick to the employer as they yielded you an opportunity when you needed it the most. I would not be surprised if your experience may be counted by CFAI. There can be a lot in store for you so, please finish it and let the ball rolling. Thanks

        Hi Jyoti,

I believe you are confused about a particular vertical to get in Investment Banking. For a fresh Chartered Accountant wanting to make fortune in IB; the best bet is getting in a Valuation profile. It is a starting point of a much glamorous Investment Banking industry.

Being in Gurgaon, India you can easily get such profiles with Big 4 and lot other boutique IB firms( if you can’t crack big 4) who does post deal work like purchase price allocation, litigation valuations, due diligence, mainly post M&A activity. Simultaneously pursuing CFA will prepare you as a complete package as you will have CA, CFA and couple of years of experience at associate level with IB. Then later on you may crack the deal side of Investment Banking.

        Hope this helps you. Thanks.
        Best,
        Akshit, CFA
