Level II Test – How do you think that it went?

Without going into any specifics that would violate our agreement, how is everyone feeling about their LII test experience? I thought it was easier than the CFAI mock and/or Schweser practice tests in that it was more straight forward but I definitely struggled in my weak areas and definitely had to do some guessing. I think the worst part of the whole experience was rushing home and trying to check answers. When do the results come out in July? Best of luck to all of you.

It’s usually about 6 weeks for L1 and L2 results, so around mid July.

In general, I think the level of difficulty was fair. But much harder than level I. In level I I finished both session within the first hour and had time to redo everything once before I walked out at the 2 hr mark (not that I’m good or anything, just that as a graduate student I could devote more time than most to the CFA exam). The level II exam took almost 2.5 hours. I only had time to go through the questions that I had doubts about before time was called. I think it’s a combination of more materials and the fact that I had less time to prep for this exam as I took on a part time job aside from my graduate studies. This really made me respect and admire those in the program with a full time job and still manage to cope with the exam.

I’m worried. Ran out of time and had to rush. I noticed a lot of LII candidates didn’t turn up.

After trying a total of 7 mocks in the past 3 weeks, my distribution of 14 half-mock scores looked completely flat between 60 and 80 percent. Had I tried a couple more, my score timeseries would be used for an exercise to show zero linear coefficient with respect to time and absence of either of heteroscedasticity, serial correlation or mean reversion. So I had not much confidence going in.

The test turned out definitely easier than most Schweser mocks and the notorious CFAI one. Part of it may be that CFAI exam writers were more careful with their writing of the real exam, the language was much clearer, easer to read and thus looked less intimidating. For me specifically, another plus is that some of my weaker topics barely showed up.

@bceagles I found some of the questions in the exam a little trickier. Scampered for time in the am section though. What do u thnk would be the mps?

That always gave me some comfort in terms of pass rate when I was a candidate. I only found out later that no-shows are not included in the pass-rate calculations…
