Ok so I am looking to sign up to Level I in June 2014 and whilst investigating study materials I see you can get old (i.e. 2010, 2011) study materials on ebayer for very cheap prices. Are these going to be any use to me? Or should I just stomach buying the 2014 Schweser materials when they are released? I assume they are not out yet? I will be signing up before the September 2013 deadline on the 25th to get the offcial CFA materials.

Bear in mind I am a finance novice who comes from the mining industry so have no real academic finance texts to my name at this stage. Could the 2010 ones give me an introduction?

      Thanks for your help

I agree with them. It is best to get the new stuff just do you don’t waste time trying to figure out what had been changed.

        Hi @jakb

i m using 2011 cfa insitute curriculum but there is not much difference for 2013 except the eco part its totally different so i will suggest u to buy some 2012 notes or say 2013 will be perfect for your your 2014 preparation.

so with Schewesr there will no such differeces………………..

hence its upon u to go with and go smartly……………

Might be a little outdated @jakb as it’s been a few years since..

I’d highly recommend going for the latest edition to take account of the changes in syllabus since then.

Agree with Sophie. I messed around with second-hand material one year – let’s just say it was totally not worth it. The Schweser 2014 materials are out already – see here! http://go.300hours.com/kaplan-schweser
