Newbie here with two related questions. Hope to get advice from the more experienced people here:

        1. In linkedin there’s usually lots of CFA whatsapp groups being formed. Is it worth joining one or is it mostly just noise?
        2. Is it worth forming an actual in-person study group? My instinct is ‘yes’, but wanted to see if anyone’s tried it and what they thought.

        Thanks!!!!

Linkedin groups are crap. joined one last year and left after a few days because there’s so much backchat going on and not much useful discussion.

Having a study buddy is probably beneficial but I wouldn’t rely on it – in other words, make sure you can study with or without a study buddy.

Groups are most beneficial for social people. Introverts do just fine studying on their own. Find what works best for you. Most Whatsapp groups that focus on single level exam (that I’ve seen) are focused on exam not chatter. You can sign up for whatsapp groups on the CFA candidate group through LinkedIn. Several to choose from.
