      Does Elan offer study notes for Level III? I’m planning to use it to compliment CFAI notes if available.

        They currently do not, but I believe this may be coming soon.

        @Alta12 you can try Schweser? They have level 3

        @Sarah I don’t like Schweser but I guess I have no choice. Bummer

        Elan confirmed no study notes offered for Level III 2014.

          That’s a shame!

          @Alta12, what do you like about Elan? And what don’t you like about Schweser?

          @edulima which level exam will you be studying for? I used Schweser for LI (as Elan was not around then) and used Elan for LII. It’s a personal preference. I found Elan easier to follow and I’m a huge fan of Peter Olinto’s videos and he teaches from Elan notes. But you will still need to read CFAI notes with either choice.

          Thanks @Alta12. My question was more out of curiosity. I am sitting for L1 in December and plan (if all goes well) to sit for L2 in June 2014. Right now all I am using are the CFAI materials and I don’t have any problems with those. According to my schedule, once I cover the whole material (including end-of-chapter problems), which should happen 5-6 weeks before the exam, I plan to buy a question bank and mock exams for my last stretch of preparation.

          @Alta12 any particular reason you don’t like Schweser?

          @edulima In addition to the CFAI mock exam provided, I suggest you use mock exams from a number of providers as the styles are very different. Schweser mock exams are more calculation based and Elan more theory based. Question banks are more useful as you go through each reading (like EOC questions). Good luck with your studies!

          @Sarah @edulima Elan offers free access to Quant and FRA study notes for LI and LII candidates when you sign up to the website (signing up is free). It’s better that you guys judge for yourself 🙂

            Feel free to use the notes that I put together in preparation for the June 2013 exam.

            I’ll update you later today on whether they were useful.

                @alta, @edulima,

                Fair warning: Those notes are no guarantee of passing. They have the advantage of being free, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

                I just checked their site because I loved Elan for Level 1 and 2. They only offer Comprehensive Lecture Videos, Mock Exams and the Eleventh Hour Review Guide for Level 3. I used the Eleventh Hour Guide extensively for 1 and 2, so I’m glad they at least offer those. Their mock exams are also very good. I’m taking a course as my primary study method and I found Elan to be the best complement, as opposed to Schweser.
