Hi guys, I am a Financial Analyst in Financial Planning and Analysis Department at a certain company in Tobacco industry. Currently, I would like to apply for a position of Financial Analyst (Macro Surveillance) at our national bank. I am CFA Level II candidate and I have BCOM (Accounting) and CPA (T) plus 2.7 years of experience in banking and tobacco industry (1.7 years in Banking as Finance Officer and 1 year in Tobacco company as a Financial Analyst). The position’s purpose is to monitor and analyse developments in financial markets, intermediaries, and financial innovations in order to assess their impact on financial stability. I would kindly ask for your help on; i) How to create a well organised and customised CV so that I can easily be short-listed including disclosing my CFA status in the CV?. ii) What kind of preparations should I do to get my self ready just in case I would be short listed in this position? I can give any further information upon your request to help you to give me advice on this. Many thanks for your cooperation.

Hi @Mr_Excel, good to see you around 🙂
On your first question, have you seen my latest blog post on precisely this topic? I would add that you need to check the job spec advertised for that national bank role and tailor/highlight the relevant skills in your CV to fit the requirement. There is a section in Education and about stating your CFA status there too.
Once you’ve sent in your CV, it’s all about interview preparations really! Do you know enough about the role and the company? What’s your story, why do you want this role? Why do you fit this role? A lot of selling yourself in interview, it’s a broad question to answer!
Happy to help or elaborate more if you’ve specific questions or provide more details.

@Mr_Excel, I’m afraid I can’t write your CV for you as it’s something you know best of.
I don’t see a problem in that your current job and CFA studies represent transferable skillset to your targeted role. You’d need to demonstrate your value add and relevant skills of your current work that is applicable to this new role.
