in reply to: Just passed my CFA level 2 exam #84419in reply to: Good way to remember Type 1 and Type 2 errors? #84578Up::5
I know that – I just can’t remember which is which during the exam. Any mnemonics that can help?
in reply to: How many hour do you study per week? #84702Up::5I’m started off L1 with weekends only, but 6 hours each day so 12 hours per week. Last two weeks I took off and studied full time, so about 6-8 hours every day.
in reply to: CFA outside of banking? #84746in reply to: Financial calculator question #85392Up::4June and December of every year have the exact same curriculum, so no worries there. Just use the same materials if you like.
in reply to: Mock Exams and Practice Exams #84551Up::4Would it be fine if I started on Ethics first, seeing that I’m already halfway into Ethics? Thanks for the advice!
in reply to: When to start mock exams? #84764Up::4genetemp said:Jumping in on this topic: when is the latest that is recommended that we should start mock exams? It’s taking a bit longer than expected for me to finish up. I’m still stuck in Equity and not touched at least half the topics…I find that about 4-6 weeks before exams should work best. I would try and finish up studying the curriculum completely by then regardless of thoroughness.
in reply to: Self-made study notes #85014in reply to: Why are the June 2018 exams so late in the month? #84440in reply to: Realized rate of return #84521Up::3Honestly, I’m not sure if you’re trolling at this point – your questions are a matter of working through the algebraic calculations. Anyways in the spirit of good community spirit:
85.503075 = 127.015881 / [(1 + r)]^4
[(1 + r)]^4 = 127.015881 / 85.503075
[(1 + r)]^4 = 1.48551243332
(1 + r) = (1.48551243332)^(1/4)(1 + r) = (1.48551243332)^(1/4)
1 + r = 1.104
r = 1.104 – 1
r = 0.104

I think they are given as and when they’re needed, i.e. they will include a few values for standard confidence levels which would be in the question itself.
