Thanks for your comments.
I agree that CFA curriculum is not rocket science, but it needs the allocation of time.
All I’m worried about is not the failure of exams(I still have to experience my first exam fail in my life, having a couple of science degrees — etc…(I know it’s always a first time 🙂 )), but will the time and commitment be paid off?All considering previous experiences, background, and age.
Thanks for your replies again.

in reply to: If I could offer just one piece of advice. #73799in reply to: Joining local CFA society #73804Up::3Hi kthomasjoseph.
I think you are in good time. I joined/registered last week and received the material on post today(pretty quick from USA to UK).
I have a software background and I DON’T work on City(I do work in Central London), but I think is possible (in my opinion) to achieve a pass mark for this December. All the best anyway.
in reply to: You passed Level 1. What do you wish you knew? #72218Up::3Hi.
As I’m “diving” into this “sea” of discussions, the Schweser’s term is used someplaces.
– Is it something I/newbie have to consider?
– Is the LARGE material from CFA not enough?(I received today my shipment, counting the pages will take almost a day…) #:-Sin reply to: Just to say “Hello” #72244Up::3Hi @Zee.
Revision, yeh, was randomly checking/reading the material…it looks a lot (much more than I thought).
But had a start…reading the first volume commuting to work today.I was aware it is a lot of work, but honestly……that high volume…..no, didn’t expect that.
Let hope it will be financially/career rewarding.Hi @Reena, how I decided for CFA.
I work on IT (test analyst), with a passion for markets.
I found myself in on some kind of dead-end job/prospectus, and what have seen from a few job interviews I have at banking/financial sector (IT related), it is a industry which pays well, with high prospectus for individuals. SO to say two main reasons: financial rewards and career opportunities.
Let see where this “adventure” will take me . 🙂Good luck with your “around the corner” exam.
Up::3@singhanand98. Nice topic.
@vincentt. I got a BSc in Computer Science, have been working on IT for my last 5 years, but really think finance word is better respected (pls don’t get me wrong), and better rewarded as IT.
Looking forward to PASS my level 1 on December.
After that will start thinking/looking for a better job/prospectus.(did passing Level 1 give you any opportunity at all).
June soon, good luck to majority of you having exam around the corner.in reply to: CFA Level I Topic Picks #72217Up::1Hi guys, nice topic, with interesting comments.
Yes, @tonypetrunin to answer your question, I believe a early start will do good, it’s a lot to learn(especially if your background is not in finance).
I started reading on the same day as I received reading material (yesterday).
I don’t have any particular plan as to what to read first, but I’m going with CFA volume numbering.Hope is going well for you all.

Plausible comments.
Thanks.
@shchan, yes, I understand you frustration…I have a f/t job, family(inc. two kids) and I know how hard it is/will be.
It is a goal we “volunteered” to achieve….so we will.
As for time, how about evenings, when kids are asleep.
Maybe not the best time, but you will see progress.Hope you will find your way around.
in reply to: Formulas on exam day #72610Up::1Thanks guys.
I thought so….just to clarify it (on data analysis exam at my Uni, we where given a formula sheet). But doesn’t seem the case here…(fair / unfair for all)
