Up::1Hi all! Hopefully you enjoyed my post today (http://www.300hours.com/blog/cfa-comic-the-12-steps-to-answering-a-cfa-practice-question#.VG3TxlesUmw). I’ve got another idea kicking around for a post and would like to collect some opinions from you guys, if you don’t mind! 🙂I want to see what our top X CFA phobias (i.e. irrational fears) are like. Mine is fear of my calculator battery running out – so I always show up with a spare battery even though everyone keeps telling me their calculator power NEVER runs out. Please hit reply and let me know what your phobia(s) are!

I find myself drinking too much water during mock exams, I am sure that three bathroom breaks will not only waste valuable time, but could also make the proctor suspicious and he’ll throw me out for excessive “leg bouncing”. (the trying-not-to-pee-while-you-are-sitting-at-a-desk kind of leg bouncing)

For level one I legitimately feared I might pee my pants rather than take a break because I was so rushed for time!

I’m always afraid I’ll be late. I end up being really early and getting nervous by pacing in pace…

Totall agree with @fabian, I end up getting there so early but I usually bring headphones as a distraction. A few others too: Afraid that by stretching or clearning my throat a proctor will think im somehow cheating through a sophisticated code. Fear of forgetting something really important like my passport or exam ticket. And of course the fear of failing but thats not exactly irrational.

A calculator or battery failure. In my level one exam, I brought 2 to cover that risk. Then the guy in front of me brought an unapproved calculator and saw I had 2. He asked to borrow one. I was mad. I couldn’t let him fail when I had the power to help. But I felt his poor planning put me at risk. When I went for level 2, I hid my second calculator until the exam started.

My biggest CFA phobia is probably the intense time pressure during the exam. With so much material to cover, the fear of running out of time family protection dogs for sale looms large. I find myself constantly second-guessing answers, which only adds to the anxiety of not completing all the questions in time.
