Hi All,
I’m looking to form a study group for CFA LI in December. Are there any CFA people in and around SE16? (Rotherhithe, Canada Water, Bermondsey) or anywhere in Z1-2 London interested in forming a group?
I’ve noticed there always seems to be atleast 5-6 CFA’ers in the Surrey Quays library around April/May, and given that most of the professionals who live in these areas work in the City/Canary Wharf I imagine there are a few fair of us around!
Anyways, I was thinking starting the group around beginning / mid-july? Let me know If you’re interested!

I find that the people I know studying for the exam don’t prefer group study, heck even I don’t. Though I can’t be positively sure why. Conflicting schedules?

Oh I wasn’t implying that group study is bad and I did my fair share while I was studying in university. I just find it strange that even though I graduated with a specialist in finance and every other fellow program graduate is also aspiring towards a CFA designation I just can’t fathom why we never did group study (even if we were studying in the same library!).

Hi All,
I have just started to study for the Level 1. I will be in London in August and I’m looking for a group/partner to study/review the program. Anyone interested?

I thought a group might be a good idea say once a month to bounce questions off each other. I always found at University it helped better my understanding If I could confidently talk about a concept in a conversation. I seem to remember conversations far better than just reading a size 6 font sentence in a hideously big text book. 😛

Also it helps to “share the burden” of study. I also get cabin fever locking myself away in a room on my own. xD

For what it’s worth, I floated the idea of organising 300Hours virtual study groups, but the issue that kept sticking out was ensuring a constant critical mass of participants.
e.g. if there was a steady demand of, say, a virtual study group for every Friday evening at 7PM London time, I could put together the e-facilities needed for a video conference that people could dial into.
@matthewjf2 if you can round up a group and a suitable timeslot I’ll be happy to set something up and send word around! -

Zee, hopefully I can find enough people. Let’s see how this thread develops!
Antonio, where in London are you?
