Hey everybody.
This is my first proper post.
Has anyone the IMC exam and CFA Level 1? I finished the IMC exam and thought it was quite easy.
My question is how much of a gap is there between the two?
As I understand the IMC already incorporates 30% of CFA Level 1?Thanks yall

There are two sections to the IMC. The first deals mainly with regulatory issues and has pretty much no overlap with level 1 as it is very UK focussed.
The second part however has a lot of overlap and if you can pass level 1 of the CFA exam then you can pass it easy. From memory though I believe that passing level 1 can provide you with an exemption from the second part of the exam.

As far as I know, IMC is significantly easier than CFA Level 1, so it might make sense to try IMC right away.
You can also PM @PMW.cfa and see how hefound it and what the general advice is… 🙂

@PMWAnderson – great to see you here!
Yep the IMC exam covers a portion of the CFA L1 exam (not sure how much, but 30% sounds about right).
A good way to have a quick estimate (seeing that you’ve already done the IMC) is to pick up a L1 practice exam and see how different it is.

@Zee, @Swift, thanks a lot. I will just have the regulatory issues to study then. But first… CFA exam!

Hey guys,
I am re-using this thread to ask a question related to IMC & CFA I exams.
If i pass the level 1 this June, do you think it would be convenient to pass the IMC right away during the summer?
or should I allocate some additional time to go through the materials related to IMC?
I don’t know if there is any content of the IMC that are not in the CFA I exam..(Best wishes, by the way)
