I did too for fixed income (one of the biggest weighting topic) if below 50% is considered failing.

I wouldn’t overworry about failing a particular section then @lulu123. The final score is all that matters.

That is true. The topics that I had less than 70% were the smaller topics and I only failed one topic (quants) that wasn’t worth much. Tho really you shouldn’t be banking on this information and hope you pass.

on the web, there are results lurking (I suppose some people post their result table on their blogs or something)
and I’ve stumbled upon some people like failing 1, 2 or even 3 (!!) sections but virtually every other section was >70% so I guess that compensated -

It really matters which sections they are failing actually. Since we all know well enough about the weightage of certain topics, best not to fail in those.

There are loads of people who scored the lowest (<50%) and passed. Like @sidmenon says, it depends on which sections. Don't use it as justification to throw a subject, however.
