References - Why are references required for the Access Scholarship application? "CFA Institute employees are not permitted to serve as references. CFA charterholder references are preferred but not required." - So what sort of references, if not CFA charterholders could I go for?Currently, I just put my parents in as references, is that ok?

@Pranav are you currently employed? ideally you would use your supervisors as references. i don't think parents would qualify as very strong referrals, but you can call CFAI or your local charter society to verify.

@DollarsToDonuts right, that's what I thought too...anyhow, no harm in waiting for a few days for clarification, since I have sent out an email...

  ahh i see. the more i think about it, using your parents may in fact be OK. i can’t imagine the access scholarship as being overly concerned with who act as your references.
