I have a little more than 2 years of work experience in an investment bank. However, I changed my industry post that (not recognized for CFA). I am giving my CFA Level 1 now and wish to get back to the banking industry. Will my 2 years in the investment bank be counted towards the CFA charterholder or should the candidate have 4 years of continuous experience in the relevant industry?

They don't need to be continuous. So your 2 years won't be going to waste, don't worry!
