@mitch895 the sad truth is with the rut the economy is in, people and that totally includes me btw, are looking for and desperate for jobs. And lo and behold, that’s where evil bosses and owners come in. Man it’s everywhere. People always have to take advantage of another person’s mishap or misfortune or disadvantage.

I did sit the exam but considering how crappy I feel the paper was, I don’t think it’s going anywhere just like the million other applications I made to other places. But thanks a lot for your advice @mitch895. I honestly appreciate it 🙂

@sophie @Swift thanks a mil for the moral support guys. I actually did the exam though it seriously felt like i was sitting a greek exam(which besides a couple of swear words I don’t speak :D) But seriously you guys are the best and seriously seriously thanks from the bottom of my heart. You guys gave my confidence a real boost when I needed it a lot 🙂

A 1% chance of success is better than the 0% chance of success that you’d have if you did nothing. If nothing else it will be a good learning experience for the future.

Completely agree with @Swift! You should definitely go for it, like you said the opportunity is hard to come by. Not much to loes really.

It sounds like the owner has either (a) already made their decision, and/or (b) they are unprofessional.

Since when has recruitment process involved the recruiter (or HR dept, or owner) disclosing how well the other candidates went?

Someone that unprofessional would be a pain to work with. And in my experience they are also the type of person to be particularly prone to bad (and unethical) business.

My advice (though too late now) would be to politely decline, congratulate him on finding a suitable candidate and wish him the best of luck with his business. Then invite him to keep your details on hand, just in case anything comes up that you might be able to help with.

But anyway. Life is too short to work with people that are [insert descriptive expletives here]. Seriously. Best of luck finding something working with people* you enjoy working with.

*This, by the way, is arguably more important that working on something you enjoy.

Thanks @cfacharterwannabe, regardless that I think it sharpens your interview skills regardless! You perform well under pressure and it can only work well in future interviews, keep on going!
