@Sarah Goodluck for the interview. Good to see that you’re inching towards your goal 🙂
As far as the relocation assistance goes, I’ve never been close to being offered something like that. But having said that, I would think that since they are the ones offering to post you at a different location, they would arrange for the relocation. It would’ve been a different story if you were applying to a foreign location yourself.

Oh dear @Sarah, I’m really sorry to hear that. I’ve heard that in lots of cases, the interviewers mostly make up their minds in the first few seconds, so maybe that’s what happened here. Still, it’s a bit of a downer to deal with rejection. I’ve been applying to jobs and getting rejected straightaway (not even an interview) for the last few months!

Yup too early @Sarah. Once you’re certain (or they’ve indicated the intention) that their making an offer, they’ll naturally talk about the package. And then only you can discuss these in the form of questions (plus what @zee mentioned). nothing is final until the offer/contract comes in, so you can leave it to last once you’re certain they want you in! Then it’s easier to meet what you ask for…

That was what I figured too but they sent me an email saying specifically that they wanted to discuss this topic. So I was at a loss at what I should say!

Might be a bit too early to talk about relocation assistance IMHO. A good way may be to ask about previous employees that have done this (i.e. Toronto then NYC) then ask about how they transferred and are they fitting in well.
Questions like how the team will be structured (i.e. who would your boss be, how many peers would it be, hierarchy etc) would also be important on whether you’d be able to enjoy yourself.
