Well, since you came back a third time you obviously want this for some reason. You’ve spent $5K+ on test materials and exam fees at this point, so why not invest in something to help you manage the stress? Perhaps yoga classes twice a week to force you to regularly de-stress?

Personally, I go a few weeks here and there without sufficient sleep and working longer hours, but I usually spend a day to catch up on sleep and give myself a break. This exam is a marathon so overexerting yourself months before the exam will hurt you instead of helping.

Do something to manage the stress. Even if you pass Level II (not going to lie, it doesn’t seem like you’ve addressed the core problem), do you think you’ll get through Level 3 without learning to calm down?

I’m having trouble getting focused as well. I’m trying to get through the majority of lectures to get at least an overview of the topic areas so that I can really dive into the details and learning the nuances in second half of Apr/May through problems.

Level 2 seems like everything has been annoying so far. Hopefully I’ll feel more comfortable once I get through some more practice problems.

I look forward to having an experiment after June 7th. Until then, I will drown myself in God’s magic elixir.

I’m glad things worked out well for you. I had a similar situation where I was nudged out of my first job as an auditor at a Big 4 firm last summer. I ended up in an internal consulting role for the Treasury function at a Fortune 10 that I never really imagined I would get, and also never would have applied for if I still worked at said Big 4 firm, and even if I did apply… I would not have been very likely to pick up and move 500 miles away.

It’s funny how things work out, but it’s important to allow yourself time to deal emotionally, accept the situation, and then CONQUER!

I got a big raise from 50s all in to 90s all in. I work less on average. I get to travel to better locations (mostly NY and international). I don’t know if I want to do this forever, or even for more than 2 years, but I’ll put forth the effort and re-evaluate every year! Who knows, maybe if I really stink then I can get laid off and find another avenue!
