::
Hi all. Working for a financial software provider company in Paris I plan to sit the CFA L1 or the CIPM L1. My understanding was that after the registration it is mandatory to sit the exam in the next few months (For example registering today I have to sit in the June Exam).
As I don’t have financial background (Excepted my 8 years of work in the big financial industry), I was afraid not to be able, with job and family, to properly prepare the exam. In order to validate my little financial skills I decided to first pass the Investment Foundation Certificate (Ex Claritas). Started the preparation and the level is clearly not really high.
Am I wrong to start with this certificate? As I saw that some peoples plan to pass the CFA 1 in December I thought that maybe I was wrong thinking that if I registered today (The only to have access to the preparation documentation. This is not the case for Investment Foundation, as the documentation is available before registration) I must sit to the next exam session and can’t postpone to December for example if I feel not enough prepared.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
