Hi Sophie, thanks for getting back to me. What do you mean by fine? Is the bachelors degree sufficient or do you also need work experience?
Up::4thanks, Sophie. Could you answer me one last question? It’s unclear to me why my work experience would count, although working time part is not counted. What happends if the CFA institute declines an application for a charterholdership?
Up::4Hi Maroon5, I am also knee-deep in practice exams. I have 3 from Kaplan Schweser, 1 CFAI, 5 from Analyst Note and 1 from Passed Tense. I did Kaplan Schweser and one from Analyst Notes.
Next i plan to do the CFAI to get used to the format and style of the questions.
In my opinion pactice exam from Kaplan Schweser were not “difficult”, since I got a quite high percentage. Kaplan Schweser gives you the option to compare your results online, there i learned that my score was not an exception.
From Analyst Notes I took the impression that the questions were quite difficult, also you had to read the questions carefully in order to fully grasp what the questions specifically is asking. But i quite like that and i learned a lot from these questions. what are your experiences?in reply to: Relevant Work Experience – Review #83880in reply to: Relevant Work Experience – Review #83915Up::3Great read. I also really like the result estimation. The email I received said “you scored higher than XYZ % of all Level I results in our database”. I am curious, how many results are in your database? And for such an estimate, do you only compare LI estimates and only for each exam or do you compare all previously entered results?
Up::3I appreciated reading this article and found the comments to the topics very useful. However, I noticed that the topic weighting mentioned are not congruent with those given by CFAI. For example the article gives the weight of Financial Reporting & Analysis as 15-25%, while CFAI indicates 15-20%, Equity should be 15-25% instead of 20-30% an so forth.
in reply to: Relevant Work Experience – Review #83898Up::2I am still a bit confused and hope you can help me. As previously mentioned, I am currently waiting to receive my L3 results, to save some time (which I now have plenty of) I started to prepare my application for a regular member. With the help of @stuj79 & @Marc I described my work experience and I have 3 references lined up (emails are already sent out).
Now, if my application is successful and IF my results for L3 come back positive, at what point may I officially put the 3 letters after my name?
(Is there any other step I need to take or may I put the three letters after my name as soon as I would receive positive exam feedback? (Big IF & all in subjunctive)in reply to: CFA Level III result #83973Up::2@Arbitrageur sorry to disappoint, 40/60/80 is 76.3%, min 71.1% and max 94.9%
I am just really reliefed 🙂in reply to: Relevant Work Experience – Review #83879Up::1That would be great!
I am currently on vacation but will PM you my description in 2 weeks. Thank you very much!in reply to: CFA Level III result #83969Up::1When analyzing results with the 300 result analyzer, what does “Your 40/60/80 score is in the 100th percentile of our sample.” mean?
Up::0During my studies for my bachelor’s degree in business administration (major in finance & banking) I was employed at 80% for four years, amongst others as a assistant in a wealth management provider. Do you think there is no chance that this is accountable as work experience? and if not, what happens if i would every pass Level III?
