in reply to: Money-Weighted Rate of Return #85607Up::4
So close! I repeated the same great strategy as above on my BAII and got the answer with a couple edits:
The F03 entry should just be 18, since there are 18 zeros after the 11th and prior to the 30th.
Then the IRR shown is 0.181949818%.
Once that is taken in gross to the 30th power, you get 1.05605
This leads to the IRR for the period as about 5.61%. Best of luck!!!

in reply to: Starting L2. How to do L2 differently to L1? #85606Up::3Starting early is always a great plan, but lots of practice exams as well; the essays are the concern for L2/L3, so you’ll want to see as many examples as possible once you’re done digesting the material (which itself is going to be a 15-20hr/week job for several months). Good luck!!!

in reply to: Starting L2. How to do L2 differently to L1? #85619in reply to: When did you start studying for Level 1? #85599Up::1Depending on your personal life, I think the earlier you start studying, the better prepared you will be.
Many of the concepts covered on Level 1 are rather complex and without an educational background in finance, it may take a bit more time to develop a thorough understanding of the content covered on the exam. I spent about 20 hours per week for six months to prepare, and having sufficient time will help you retain the information and understand the reasoning behind the more advanced topics.
Best of luck in your preparation!
in reply to: What do y’all do in between studying sessions? #85600Up::1It’s super important to take breaks when you’re studying to improve your ability to focus and your level of productivity.
When I was studying for my exams, I would play a short game after each section. I’d suggest going for a walk as well, as I did while listening to the code and standards that I recorded for myself (which isn’t as much of a break, admittedly). Allow your brain to reset, but be sure to set yourself a specific time-limit so you get back to studying in a reasonable about of time.
in reply to: Kaplan Schweser Blended Learning vs. PremiumPlus #85605Up::1I did the “at my own pace” program and it was great… no live classes. I did wish I had an “ask-a-tutor” at the time when things were just not clicking.
