So I’m going to bring regular earplugs to the test, but I also have this pair of over the ear noise isolating headphones. They’re the kind you wear when riding a lawnmower or playing drums–they have no wires and are basically big ear muffs. Anyone know if these are allowed at the test?
They do a supreme job of blocking out sound and they have no electronics in them so I’d think they’re legal, just want to double-check.
Thanks!

I doubt they woud be legal. If its not specifically mentioned by the CFAI as allowed in the test center or if there is a medical reason, they will not be permitted. Plus with all the Dre Beatz headphones and the like out there they would have no way of knowing that you werent secretly playing a Schweser audio chapter during the test. Stick to the earplugs, works great and less bulky.

It would be better to carry the regular ones! The ear muffs that you have mentioned, sound way to fancy to be allowed on the exam! 😉 :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
You could use them at home while studying though! I guess they’ll help improve focus quite a bit!
But if you really wanna use these while writing the exam then, like @MM12 suggested, try emailing the CFAI and see what they respond! Hope the let you use them!

Agree with @mattyc. Also below is a list of permitted items in the exam room, from this post: http://www.300hours.com/blog/cfa-exam-day-checklist-items
