Just out of curiosity, do you guys use the printed or e version of the curriculum? I’ve always been using the printed version but when I was sitting the level II exam this year I was surprised by the number of people who just used their ipads for study. I don’t know if this is psychological or something but I seem to remember things better when I learn from a book than reading on screen? I’ve just signed up for level 3 for next year and decided to give the e books a try, and if that doesn’t work out I’ll just go back to the good old fashioned book.

Thanks for the advice guys. Now this may sound like a dumb question, but does anyone know how to purchase the printed curriculum from CFAI website? I remember when I registered earlier it seems to say you can buy the books separately later on but now when I logged back into my CFA account under the “curriculum” menu there is only the redemption code for the ebooks. I did a little bit of search on their website but this did not seem helpful. So does anyone have a clue how to get the books?

Now you have to buy print curriculum separately for $150+$20(shipping) since they have made the e-book option compulsory now. Go to this link. Search for “Purchase CFA Curriculum”, follow the steps as usual.
My suggestion is to get the books printed from Virtual book shelf. For me they costed only 15% of the amount.

@black_bunny welcome to the forum! When I did the CFA there wasn’t an e-curriculum, but I did use Schweser’s e-curriculum. It’s useful to have both – I like old school, but it’s so quick to use the search function to find something quickly on the e-versions.
It’s a personal preference at the end. I’d advise both if you prefer studying on the hard copy.

Hey @Black_bunny, welcome to the community! I’m with you, old school printed curriculum is for me. It’s personal choice really, don’t worry about that. All matters is whether you’re effective when studying for hours, pick whichever works best for you.
