- Check the weather and dress appropriately. If it is forecasted to rain bring an umbrella. Being soaked is just not comfortable. If you get the chills easily. Dress in layers. If you have a lucky charm. Find it the night before.
- Pack your stuff the night before and lay out what you need for the morning. @Zee even provided us with a list of things we need to bring. I rarely wear a watch but I wanted to bring one for exam day and unfortunately it wasn’t where I’d expect it to be. Frantically looking for your watch on the day of the exam is not the best way to start off your day.
- Be familiar with the surrounding area of the exam centre. Chances are Saturday morning the traffic will be hectic and you might have to do the last leg of the journey on foot. Wear comfortable shoes.
- Scope out the area for restaurants that are in walking distance just in case the lunch you brought doesn’t suffice. This way you might also be able to avoid the long lineups.
- If you are driving make sure you have an alternate parking location in case you can’t get close enough to the exam centre to park. My parents dropped me off and thank goodness. I think I’d be late otherwise even though I left my house at 7:00 and the exam centre is less than half an hour away.
- Think and be positive. I have been told that the difference between first and second place athlete is mental toughness. You’ve done your work and put in the hours. Now it is time to show what you’ve got and play ball.
- Dress to impress. Or at the very least pick clothes that instill confidence. I know a few people that like to show up to the exam centre dressed in a three piece suit because it makes them feel confident. I for one advocate this wholeheartedly. (I like men dressed in suits…)
