Hi all! Hope you are in best of your health and spirits. I am a CFA Level 2 candidate to be studying in London . I want to know about the possibilities of having relevant professional experience while studying for Level 2. What kind of roles are offered to CFA Level 1 Passed? Is the job search going to be competitve? I already have experience of 2 years in the role of a finance analyst, can this help? Can any one guide me in this regard?
Regards,
Aliza Khan

@aliza_khan – finance analyst should qualify for relevant work experience. The job market at the moment is certainly competitive, and Level I alone will not set you terribly apart from your peers.

I did corporate finance previously while studying and obtaining my CFA too @aliza_khan. While not necessary for the role, I found it useful knowledge (finance) wise and was quite sure it’s a benefit during interview, but I suspect especially when I was a Level 3 candidate or charterholder.
What you’re doing now and your background is relevant for a CF role anyway, so with proper interviewing you should be able to obtain a role – although depending where you are i suspect it’s always gonna be competitive.

Hi @aliza_khan, studying while working is the norm for all CFA candidates – it’s all about striking the right balance with work, studies and personal commitments.
What kind of role specifically are you looking for? I think that should be the objective rather than “I’ve the Level 1, what roles are available”. The other questions rely on your career goals.
