Hey Mix,
If you work as an accountant I think you should try to move into a Transaction Service / Corporate Finance department. Your experience should be very valuable to move into numerous roles requiring valuation skills (M&A, ER…)
in reply to: BE CAREFUL – Willey Elan guides CFA L2 2015 #81183Up::4Quick update of this thread. Wiley solved non of the issues mentionned above. From the correspondance I had with the support manager, no update is to be expected. I am very disappointed.
Zee did you have any update? Thanks!

in reply to: Performance-related pay #81846Up::3Hey Mix, here are my 2 cents:
1st I think there is a difference between actual work done and performance.
If you literally want to be paid for your actual work done, at least at a junior level, I think M&A is a good way to go. Work hard and you will be paid well until you reach Director level.
If you want to be paid regarding your performance I think there are mainly 2 types of job:
– hunter: increase bank / Asset Manager AuM (Sales, private banker jobs) and for consulting it is about generating deals (M&A levFin etc…)
– farmer: portfolio manager, HF manager (salary related to the actual performance of your portfolio)Hope it helps 😉
in reply to: BE CAREFUL – Willey Elan guides CFA L2 2015 #81529Up::1Hi there and sorry for late update.
Thanks Fabian and edulima for your comments!
It seems things are slowly improving now with Elan as we are now able to print up to 100 pages (enough to print one reading)
Platinum package will include paper material, online questions, 11th hour and some small features.I am almost done with Quants and Economics and so far I am quite satisfied with the explanation given which are less “mechanical” than Schweser.
I will give more updates as I think I will upgrade to platinum when it will be available.
Hope logistic will be fine this time! (shipping, access etc…)
Cheers!
Sam
in reply to: Performance-related pay #81854Up::1You re welcome Mix! If you are a fresh graduate you should look for Analyst roles. If you already have a few years of experience in a related field (Audit, Transaction Services for instance) you should try to apply for Associate roles. Consulting is very broad it is like saying Finance. If you are interested by consulting and want to later move into M&A or any IBD role, I think you should aim strategic consulting (very competitive) or corporate finance / M&A roles in Audit firms (more accessible).
