@RoyD and @Stuj79 hilarious. I know that Vignette. My strategy was to totally ignore it in the PM exam till I had answered all the other 56 questions satisfactorily. By the time I returned, I seemed to have a hang of what the qeustion stems expected. With results outs, had a 50 – 70 score so I definitely confirm it did not turn out badly at all.
I don’t think KS deserves all the butt it typically gets, maybe cos I know I would never be able to wade through the CFAI material. But I am very satisfied with KS. Does not matter that I had to take L2 twice to pass, same strategy. KS 90% and the 10% I refer to CFAI for concepts I don’ understand from KS.
Excited about L3!
in reply to: Level 3 study material #82801Up::5Agree it would come back to how you study. I have casually started my L3 prep and well, I am using the Schweser vids and notes. I will read curriculum for Ethics and some of the PW material. But I will review the blue boxes and attempt all the CFAI EOC questions.
The curriculum does contain a lot of noise in my opinion.

MPS keeps changing but ofcourse, greater than 70 in FRA, Equity and then average scores in at least Ethics, CFin and Derivatives will almost get you home and dry. Oh Fixed Income is also weighted more now!
in reply to: Best of luck today CFA candidates! #82666in reply to: How to Pass the CFA Level II Exam #82667Up::4I agree mainly with the article.
My advisable strategy is to wrap your end entirely around FRA & Equity. And always aim for >70 in understanding of the concepts.
Next should be Corporate Finance and Portfolio Management, easy to wrap your head around.
Then Economics and Quants are sort of down in the minutia, low hanging fruits.
Remember, Ethics determines your destiny if you are a border liner!
in reply to: Can you study with CFA ebook material only? #82700Up::4The questions are easy, but they help to cement understanding of the concepts, at least they helped in my case. I used to casually do the qbank questions at work or when my head was fully saturated.
That said, need to emphasize the importance of doing all the CFAI EOC questions!

That figure is a ballpark (i.e. is this number in the neighborhood of time required). I understand that they are available online after being recorded live. They useful? Not so much? Etc.

Schweser vids were useful for me!
in reply to: Uhh…that was not fun. How did you find it? #82803Up::4@hellomarconi I totally agree with your plan. I had Band 8 in 2013 L2 just after I had passed the Dec 2012 exam.
I finally passed the June 2015 exam and it was a similar plan.
I commenced studying c. November and hit full mocks by January. You need to OD on questions, I did all the questions I could lay my hands on.
CFAI EOC, Schweser EOC, Previous CFAI mocks, Schweser Mocks, Questions on the CFAI site, let practise questions be a drug you are addicted to. It helps to bring everything together.
Strategy wise, I advise you maintain your grasp of the Equity material and improve your on FRA & FI.
My passing strategy was to ensure I was over confident on FRA, Equity, CF, Der, always aiming form >70 in those. Maintain average scores in AI, PM, and FI. I honestly did not mind not getting Eco and Quants.
But for now, you should rest and rejuvenate as you prepare to kick the question writers next year!
