@Sophie, I’m working at Intel currently and have a solid working knowledge/background with the oil industry through my degree/prior experience. I believe that combo would work well in an equity research arena primarily focusing on a sector that I can relate to: (technology/energy/oil & gas/etc).
That being said, I’d also be interested in a portfolio analytics position where I could leverage my quantitative background (love math) and my interest in managing my own portfolio.
During the time before I begin studying for L2, I plan on contributing to Seeking Alpha as I enjoy fundamental analysis of companies I’m interested in as well as writing in general.
in reply to: Is scoring 90% right after reading good enought ? #75384Up::4My skeleton schedule is to read through the material and do the concept checkers as you’ve done (takes anywhere from 3-4 dedicated months)..then ideally you’d have about a month and a half before the exam to go through either those same concept checkers you’ve already done (or in my case i went through old schweser notes problems) and shored up concepts I was weak on before spending about 3-4 weeks on mock exams…
in reply to: anyone starting level 2 before new year’s? #75628Up::3November at some point for me…for level 1 I began mid-december and comfortably had enough time.. I plan on reviewing casually for a few weeks before diving in to L2 material post thanksgiving.
