Hi guys, I am preparing towards Level III June 2014. I would like to get your views and advice on which topic is better to start with in preparations? Which will be the right topic order to go with in the whole process of preparations?

        Thanks for your cooperation!

I’d second starting with behavioural finance and IPS. Those are the main big players in L3 and the sooner you know them the better.

@christine, @Ajfinance Thanks for the advice. I wanted to know are there any subjects where people feel that are tough to crack, so that I can finish them first? I am already done with Ethics, Behavioral Finance (the easier ones :)) )

          IPS for sure.

The weighting of L3 is fairly predictable – Ethics are likely to be in the item set section, and IPS will dominate.

We have a great breakdown and analysis of the past 3 years’ weightings in our CFA Results Analysis report (http://www.300hours.com/cfa-results-analysis.html), as well as a special section on how to approach the essay section. Hope that helps!

Hi @RaviVooda. I wouldn’t mention any specific topic to start with, because at the end of the day, you need to be able to synthesize all the topics to provide an answer. My suggestion to you is,

          1. You can start with a topic which you feel can be challenging, depending on your strengths and weaknesses.
          2. Or you may start with a topic which you find interesting, something not present in the previous levels, ex : Behavioral Finance.

Its not as much about reading the topics in the right order, as much as it is about understanding the concepts and practicing enough Mock exams. Hope that helps.
